A book titled “Scoprire Scicli, Discover Scicli” was presented on March 1st at Palazzo Spadaro, Scicli. The book, published by the Municipality of Scicli, is a 208-page text that contains a rich photographic set on the history of Scicli. It is written in both English and Italian and is the largest editorial operation ever undertaken by the Sciclitano public body with the contribution of the regional Department of Cultural Heritage.
The book features texts by Paolo Nifosì, Giuseppe Pitrolo, Franco Causarano, Giovanni Portelli and Giuseppe Savà, and photographs by Luigi Nifosì. The procedure for the book was managed by Professor Saverio Scerra of the archaeological heritage section of the Superintendency of Ragusa. The presentation of the book was attended by the mayor Mario Marino and the Hon. Giorgio Assenza.
The first print run of the book consists of 500 copies printed in four colors on 200-gram matt coated paper. These copies will be distributed to personalities, scholars and illustrious guests of Scicli.
