Frigintini, a village of around ten thousand persons, located 10 km from Modica and 30 Km from Ragusa, has been one of my recent favourite destinations.
Still very green, life is very quiet and people take it easy. They laugh, chat, argue about football and live a happy life. Work is still a problem for a lot of young people, but yet they are still humble and choose petty jobs to start with. These are mainly in construction, catering and hospitality.
One can find all kind of amenities such as supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies, petrol stations, banks and postal office.
A popular establishment in Frigintini is the ‘Al Falucio Bar’, where people meet for coffee or a drink. Staff are very friendly and still relatively young. This place caters for breakfast, lunch, aperitivo (a very popular tradition before dinner) and dinner.

People may seem to be introvert, but I was quite impressed how glad they are when they are given a ‘buon giorno’ or ‘buona sera’. Basically this implies, if you want people to be friendly, you have to put some effort and you will practically conquer them.
